This year's World Maritime Day celebration theme is "MARPOL at 50 – Our commitment goes on". It is all about Environmental performance, and we love it! According to IMO- International Maritime Organization, the main topics are focused on reducing litter from ships, especially plastic; supporting innovation in marine fuel production; decarbonizing the maritime sector; unlocking green finance, assisting environment-friendly investments; and promoting partnerships and collaboration on the industry. To give more visibility to the covered topics this year, IMO Headquarters will be illuminated with blue lights again and encourage other landmarks to light up, such as buildings, bridges, ports, ships, monuments, and others. Also, all maritime industry members can share images on social media, tagging IMO and using the hashtag #WorldMaritimeDay
