Understand all the costs involved in onboarding, their respective areas of responsibility and whether there is a possibility of reimbursement.

Some positions will also
require B1/B2 Visa (musicians),
if training will be provided on
land prior to embarking.
Depending on itinerary, may
require additional MCV and
Transit Australian Visas,
Canadian Tourist Visa,
Schengen Visa or others.
Your recruiter will inform you of the kind(s)
of Visa(s) that you will need require, based
on your LOE (Letter of Employment) and
ship’s itinerary. Visas will be paid by Crew
Member, however upon receipt, will be
reimbursed once crew gets onboard.

FLIGHT from Crew Member’s
home(major gateway only)
to port of call.
This may or may not be the responsibility
of the Crew Member, depending on cruise
line/concessionary and position. Please refer
to received paperwork or ask your recruiter.
Occasionally, Crew Member might need to get
to a main gateway (international airport) on
its own, as employer may only cover major
international airports and not
internal connections.

Pre-Embarkation: hotel, food,
land transfers.
This is paid for by the cruise line
concessionary unless otherwise specified.

Uniform or costume
(for animators only).
This is may or may not be provided
by the cruise line/concessionary at no
cost, you should be informed by your
recruiter Shoes might be required in
specific colors to match uniform and will
be at Crew Member’s cost.

Repatriation FLIGHT
from port to Crew Member’s
home (major gateway only).
If contract is completed, this will be covered
by the cruise line/concessionary. If Crew
Member resigns before the end of the
contract, the employer may deduct the
cost of the return ticket from the Crew
Member’s last salary.
