The Finance Specialists are responsible for the ship’s financial reporting, including budgeting, payroll, and accounting per cost center or department. They work closely with the administration purser to ensure that the ship’s financial operations run smoothly. Ideal candidates have an Accounting degree or diploma, and bring 1-3 years of experience crunching numbers, running reports for senior management, finding discrepancies. They are very comfortable using Excel and can stand several hours working with numbers and behind the computers to provide accurate reports to the Heads of Department, who will make important inventory and purchase decisions based on each voyage or department profitability reported.
