CEO - HR & Senior Management Placement Consultant

Fabiana Estrela was born in Sao Paulo (Brazil) but has lived in Southern Ontario, Canada since 2006. She is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish, and she has some knowledge of Italian and French. She carries a bachelor’s degree in Communications, and post-grads in Business with majors in Hospitality and Tourism, International Business, and Human Resources Management. Throughout her career, she has acquired experience in key account management, marketing, media, PR, entertainment events, market research, hospitality training and coaching, international business development and recruitment. She considers herself a world traveler and has visited 50 countries and counting! She is Cast-A-Way's MLC (Maritime Labour Convention) certified auditor and the company's CEO.  

Admin Assistant

Anna Victoria Murphy was born in São Paulo (Brazil) but has lived in Alberta (Canada) since 2009. She is fluent in Portuguese and English and has a bachelor’s degree in Education with an emphasis on early childhood education. She has also great experience in Customer Service working as a server and in retail sales. She currently supports Fabiana and Nicola with management and onboarding tasks.

Manager of Operations EMEA - Europe, Africa, Middle East (GCC), Asia // Key Account Manager: Royal Caribbean, Park West // Chef & Concierge Expert

Thabi is from Mafikeng, South Africa. She is the Manager of Operations for EMEA, focusing on recruitment strategies and partnerships, business development and positioning the brand on the continent. She has a Hospitality Management background plus eighteen years of experience in the hospitality and banking industries. Thabi worked for Disney Cruise Line as an Assistant Server, Guest Services Associate, and Concierge. She joined the Cast-A-Way team in late 2021, and it's been a fulfilling venture.

Onboarding Staff​​​

Gabi holds a technical degree in electrical studies and has three years of administration education. She interned in robotics during high school and is a skilled pianist and music teacher. Gabrielle's first language is Portuguese, and with five years of Spanish study, Gabi enjoys the team dynamic at Cast-A-Way Brazil. She thrives in managing clients and processes, helping candidates get hired, and finds great satisfaction in teaching. Her diverse skills make her a valuable asset to the team.

Márcia is Brazilian and graduated in Management Processes. She has worked with operations for FedEx for 11 years. She has a fast-paced ability of organization and a vast know-how. Márcia was enthusiastic about joining the Cast-A-Way family because she is very determined and always up for a challenge. What she values the most and fuels her is being able to help people achieve their goals and candidates get their dream jobs onboard.      

Marketing & Design

Gaby is a Brazilian Graphic Designer graduated in Belas Artes of São Paulo, bringing a wealth of experience from her diverse background in the industry. Her journey began in 2013 as a photographer with Costa Crociere, and she has since progressed through various roles in graphic design, content management, and guest operations with prestigious brands like Ritz Carlton Yacht collection and Carnival Cruise Lines. This extensive experience has equipped her with a unique skill set that enhances brand communication and engagement. Her commitment to excellence and ability to adapt in dynamic environments have made her a valuable member of the Cast-A-Way team. Currently taking a Master Degree in Service Design to provide the best user experience within the industry. Sr. Placement Consultant Manager // Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, UK

Key Account Manager for Disney Cruise Line  - Entertainment Expert Nicola began her adventure on cruise ships with Disney Cruise Line in 2001. After two contracts and being moved into a management position, she expanded her cruise industry knowledge by joining Carnival Cruise Line. Nicola joined the Cast-A-Way team in 2006, and after two years of experience recruiting in Canada, Nicola started Cast-A-Way Australia and New Zealand.

Sr. Placement Consultant - Spa Expert

Key Account Manager: Concessions, Carnival Corp brands Kathy started her career onboard as a seasonal youth staff on Princess Cruises. She spent the next ten years working on Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruises as Spa Manager, managing teams of 10-50 staff. After traveling worldwide, Kathy settled in Vancouver, Canada, where she grew up. Kathy joined the Cast-A-Way family in 2014. Kathy is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Sr. Placement Consultant // Manager for South America

Key Account Manager: Carnival Cruise Line and Margaritaville at Sea Entertainment Expert​ Sue was born in South Africa and is fluent in English and Afrikaans. She has worked for the cruising industry with 12 years of experience in many different departments and roles onboard, including Skin Care Specialist for Steiner on Celebrity cruises and retail with Starboard onboard Carnival Cruise Line. She also worked in Entertainment at Fun Squad and found her way to Entertainment Director, which is a position she has held for the past 7 years. She also has experience in recruiting and onboarding and wants to help others build their dream life, as she was able to do over so many years onboard.

Bar Expert​ Patricia lives in Spain, and she is fluent in English and Spanish. She has worked for the cruising industry for 16 years and worked her way up to Bar Manager, having passed through different positions and achieved outstanding sales targets. Patricia is very excited to be a part of the Cast-A-Way family to help others have the wonderful experience of being part of the cruising industry. She has been with Cast-A-Way since 2017.

Originally from the East coast of Canada and now based in Montreal, Eric has navigated his way through 15+ years in the cruise line industry; this is definitely a full circle moment for him as a co-founder of Cast-A-Way in 1998, and watched it grow! Eric is thrilled to be back at Cast-A-Way, where dreams set sail! And so is Cast-A-Way family to have him back! Here is to another 25 years!

Placement Consultant Manager // South Africa

Shorex Expert ​Mapule is from Johannesburg, South Africa. She is a highly accomplished former Shore Excursions Specialist with great sales and operations management expertise. She brings eight years of experience working at sea as a Fitness Trainer and in Tour Operations for Carnival Cruise Line and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. She also was part of the original opening team for Virgin Voyages, Scarlet Lady. Working at sea has taken her career global. Mapule is thrilled to be part of the Cast-A-Way family, sourcing top African candidates for our top clients.

Ruth is from Lusaka, Zambia, and speaks fluent English as her first language. Her hospitality journey began as an assistant waiter at Royal Caribbean, an experience that ignited her passion for service and hospitality. Privileged enough to work in stage, light, and sound production on land, Ruth embodies versatility and adaptability. Passionate about traveling and experiencing new challenges, she brings a wealth of diverse experiences to her endeavors. With strong communication skills and a profound commitment to helping others, Ruth is dedicated to making a positive impact in her line of work and within her community.

​Sanelisiwe is a seasoned professional hailing from Durban, South Africa. She has extensive experience as a qualified Beauty Therapist. Her journey has taken her around the world, as she embarked on an exciting career aboard Carnival Cruise Line ships in 2014, over the course of 9 contracts. Now she is back in her hometown as a Placement Consultant for Cast-A-Way, leveraging her wealth of experience and deep understanding of the cruise industry, she connects talented professionals with opportunities that allow them to thrive and excel.

Spa Expert  ​​Chido graduated Beauty College and pursued her passion to work on board. She worked with the Onboard Spa for five contracts before returning home and setting up a Beauty School to give other young Zimbabweans a chance to experience what she experienced on board ships. She worked on land for five-star hotels such as the Ritz Carlton. 

Placement Consultant Manager // Indonesia

Galley Expert ​Dewa is from Bali, Indonesia. He started his hospitality career working for three years in a hotel as an assistant cook in Bali. In 2007 he started his first contract onboard as a Galley Steward and worked his way up to Galley Supervisor. In 2015 he continued his career working for a hotel restaurant in Bali until he started working with hospitality recruitment in 2016. With his experience, Dewa was excited to join the Cast-A-Way family in 2022, hoping to help many people have the wonderful experience of working on cruise ships as he did.

​Seni is from Bali, Indonesia. She started her career in the hospitality industry as a waitress and worked for over 5 years at Canggu Club Bali (now known as Finns Recreation Club). From 2014 to 2018, she continued her studies at Mahasaraswati University, majoring Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (English Department). She taught English at one of Bali's hotel and cruise line Training Centers during her studies. She has been a recruiter in the hospitality industry since 2019. Seni was super excited to join the Cast-A-Way family to help others achieve their dream jobs.

Hailing from the vibrant city of Nairobi, Kenya, Tajiri Gitonga graduated from United States International University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business Administration and has practiced for over 8 years in the business and hospitality industry. Having recruited in Kenya for some of the most prestigious cruise lines, Tajiri brings his vast experience to the Cast-A-Way team. He believes that the key to a successful company begins with proper staffing.

Abaleng is a results-driven professional with a dynamic career spanning various roles in the telecommunications industry both fixed and mobile products with 21 years of experience. Abaleng is known for her expertise in customer service, management, and provisioning.

Housekeeping Expert // Placement Consultant Manager - Mauritius

Born in Mauritius, naturalized Canadian, Oumesh started in the hotel industry in Housekeeping and Guest Services in 2000. Oumesh then joined the Cruise Industry in 2002, and after working onboard ships he started his career as a recruiter. Oumesh has also provided housekeeping training. He says that the Cruise Industry has always been where he found himself: “A man settles where he finds happiness”, and recruitment is where he finds his. Last but not the least, Oumesh enjoys interacting with people, discovering talents and skills in people, and eventually pairing up the right candidate to the right employer.  

Senior Placement Consultant // Jamaica

Daytona is from Jamaica. She makes education her top priority. She obtained her Tourism Management Diploma from Northern Caribbean University. Her outgoing personality, ambition and determination positively impacts everyone she comes across. She is one of the newest members of the Cast-A-Way team, supporting our recruitment efforts in Jamaica and the Caribbean islands.

Tishauna is from Jamaica, graduated from Northern Caribbean University with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Tishauna began her recruitment experience with Cast-A-Way in 2022. She is currently working with the Caribbean team as a Placement Consultant, helping candidates find their dream job onboard. Her passion is to connect people with the best opportunities in the cruise industry and make their dreams come true.

Jennyfer Sinclair is from Nicaragua, holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and speaks Spanish and English. She is also a proud mom of two beautiful girls and has been a shipboard recruiter for more than 15 years. Her love and passion for helping people looking for a job opportunity is to see them achieve their goals and change their family lives. She also supports our Key Account Manager Thabi with some admin tasks for Royal Caribbean.

Originally from Ottawa, Canada's capital, Hillary has dedicated herself to a fulfilling career onboard Carnival Cruise Line since 2015. Having worked in the youth department, Hillary quickly rose to the role of Youth Director in 2018, where she passionately led initiatives to create enriching experiences for the younger guests onboard. Hillary is enthusiastic about guiding candidates to achieve their dreams of working at sea, providing valuable support and encouragement to crew members looking to build stable futures for themselves and their families.

David comes from the coastal city of Alicante in Spain. He started his career at sea in 2005 when he joined Royal Caribbean and has worked his way up in the Entertainment department to become a Cruise Director. He also worked as Shorex Assistant Manager. He has worked in lines such as Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Pullmantur, lberocruceros, Cruise and Maritime Voyages and MSC. During all this time, he has visited over a hundred countries and wishes to help other people to join life at sea on cruise ships, the best job in the world. He joined the Cast-A-Way team in 2022.
