
ART PREPARATOR
Art Preparators (APs) play a vital behind-the-scenes role in supporting the logistics and day-to-day operations of the onboard art program. They are responsible for the safe handling, setup, and movement of artworks, ensuring that all gallery displays and art auctions are executed smoothly and professionally.
Candidates come from diverse cultural backgrounds and must be coachable, proactive, and physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg). English proficiency is required. Art Preparators who demonstrate strong technical skills and reliability may be promoted to Art Associate roles over time.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up and break down gallery exhibitions and art auction events following shipboard safety protocols and best practices in art handling.

Maintain inventory of artworks, promotional materials, and operational supplies.

Ensure the proper care, presentation, and storage of the ship’s art collection and gallery spaces.

Lead and train temporary art movers on proper procedures and safety regulations.

Support the Principal Auctioneer during auctions by moving artworks on and off stage, preparing the auction layout, and returning items safely to storage.

Be punctual and responsive for all gallery setups, auctions, seminars, and team requests.

Participate in all mandatory shipboard safety trainings and emergency drills.

Maintain a learning mindset and openness to feedback from leadership.

Build positive relationships with ship staff and remain compliant with cruise line standards and operations.
Compensation:
Art Preparators receive a guaranteed weekly base salary, onboard accommodations, all meals, and round-trip travel to and from their assigned ship. Branded company polo shirts are provided for use during work hours.
