
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER or DIRECTOR
The Human Resources Manager or Director on a cruise ship is responsible for managing all crew onboard alongside the Captain. The HRM or HRD will ensure that all employees are properly trained, have appropriate contracts as per Maritime law, and all crew is aware of the company’s policies and procedures. They manage the payroll team, the crew administration staff, employment engagement and the learning & development staff onboard. The ideal candidate has a HR degree or diploma or a combination of Business Administration degree and HR management from hotels or large land-based corporations, manging teams of 1000-2000 staff. They will be responsible for daily HR operations as well as investigations, escalated disciplinary action, terminations, crew career development, evaluations and appraisals, audits and compliance with proper legislation.
