The CRUISE DIRECTOR (DC) is the main “face of the ship”, the “main host”. It is responsible for overseeing all onboard activities and entertainment programs and that all guests have a blast, the best vacation they ever had before!They manage a team of entertainment hosts to create a fun and engaging atmosphere for guests and ensure that all activities run smoothly, safely and with the most guests’ engagement possible! On some ships, the CD will be the head of the Entertainment department, while in other brands it may report to the Entertainment Director. Similarly, CD might overlook the Technical, Musical and Casting team or not. The ideal CD candidates have completed several contracts as an Entertainment Host before, knows all daily operations of all activities and has previous managerail experience, since the CD will be also in charge of scheduling, disciplinary action, terminations, promotions and appraisals of all Entertainment staff. They must be of upbeat energy levels and very outgoing personality, a natural “master of ceremonies” and often the Light of the Party. Fluent English is a must.
