BAR UTILITY

BAR UTILITY (or Bar Utility) is the entry-level position for the bar department. Responsible for performing various tasks in the bar area, including restocking, cleaning, and setting up for service, ensuring all supplies and garnishments are available for the Bartenders to use. They may also assist the bartenders and servers with serving drinks and food if needed extra support.

BAR SERVER

A BAR SERVER (or Bar Waiter) is responsible for taking drink orders, serving drinks and providing excellent customer service to bar patrons. They must have great knowledge of the bar's menu and be able to make recommendations based on customer preferences. As a tipped position, it pays off to go the extra mile in providing memorable service to the guests. They are also responsible for safe drinking and must (at times) know when to report if guests are drunk to unsafe levels.

BAR MANAGER

The BAR MANAGER is responsible for overseeing all bar operations onboard the ship, dozens of venues and teams of up to 180 crew. They make decisions regarding menu development, staffing, training, budgeting, and are responsible for ensuring that the bar runs smoothly and provides excellent customer service. It's a revenue drive department, therefore they are in charge of managing inventory and profitability of this department through continuously improved sales of beverages in all venues.

RESTAURANT ATTENDANTS

A Restaurant Attendant (also knows as Assistant Server, Buffet Steward, or Snack Attendant by different cruise lines) is the entry level position for the Restaurant Services department. It is responsible for assisting in the casual dining areas by refilling drinks, serving bread, setting up tables, cleaning tables and buffets and helping with any other customer service tasks as needed. They must provide excellent customer service and work well as part of a team. They will work their way up in the Restaurant Services Department.
